Hi, I’m Michael 👋#
I’m Zaimao Peng (彭在茂), but most people call me Michael. I’m a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University, working at the intersection of biomedical engineering, materials science, and emerging technologies.
What I Do#
My work spans across:
- 3D Bioprinting — Developing advanced bioinks and printing strategies for tissue engineering
- Rheological Characterization — Expert in complex fluid behavior (I train people on the Anton Paar MCR702e!)
- AI in Healthcare — CranioSwift project: AI-powered cranial implant design
- Cross-disciplinary Collaboration — Bridging academia, industry, and international partnerships
My Journey#
Born in China, educated across two continents through the Monash-Central South University joint program. I’ve worn many hats: researcher, trainer, coordinator, mentor, and now — builder of things that matter.
Beyond the Lab#
When I’m not in the lab, you’ll find me:
- 🐱 Hanging out with my ragdoll cat Lulu
- 📚 Reading about technology and entrepreneurship
- 🌏 Exploring ideas at the intersection of East and West
- 🛠️ Building side projects and learning new skills
Let’s Connect#
I’m always interested in collaborations, conversations, and new ideas. Feel free to reach out!
